MicroFinanza Rating (MFR) (Italy), an independent international rating company, has assigned Farm Credit Armenia UCO with the Client Protection Certification (GOLD) level and the Social and Environmental (ESG) sBB+ rating.

The rating assignment was preceded by a six-month assesment and evaluation process, which included a review of the cooperative’s all procedures and  performances (operational and financial). 

The GOLD level of customer protection certification confirms that Farm Credit Armenia bases its activities on the protection of customer rights, while the sBB+ social and environmental rating demonstrates that the organization systematically manages social and environmental risks, contributes to the sustainable development of rural communities, and has a positive impact on its borrower farmers and small businesses.

Farm Credit Armenia is the only credit cooperative in the Republic of Armenia and in the region, which is providing mostly agriculture and SME loans. The cooperative was founded in 2007 by 57 farmers; currently the number of members-shareholders of the cooperative is near to 12,000.
