From May 16-19 the CEO/President of Farm Credit Armenia credit cooperative, Mr. Armen Gabrielyan, participated in the Cooperatives Europe Annual General Assembly in Helsingor, Kingdom of Denmark.
This year Cooperatives Europe had organized the Assembly with the assistance of its member Kooperationen. Kooperationen is a cooperative organization that unites Danish employers and has around 92 member-organizations and approximately 14.000 employees. It’s interesting that Denmark has a population of 5.7 mln, 1.7 mln of which are cooperatives members.
The general theme of this year’s Assembly was the problem of worldwide sustainable development. During the working sessions such topics were discussed as gender equality, youth engagement in the economic development of European countries, the role of the cooperative model in international development and other issues that are directly connected to the fulfillment of sustainable development goals.
