From May 23-25 of the present year, invited by the Russian Credit Unions League, the CEO/President of Farm Credit Armenia UCO CC, Mr. Armen Gabrielyan, and the Assistant CEO/Head of Staff Ms. Anna Petrosyan participated in the 12^th Annual Forum of Russian Credit Unions League in Sochi, Russia. This jubilee Forum was dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of the credit cooperatives’ movement in modern Russia. Among the participants were a number of representatives from credit cooperatives (around 230 participants) from different regions of Russia, as well as foreign partners from Ireland, USA, Thailand and Papua New Guinea.
Various topics were discussed during the Forum regarding the existing problems of the credit cooperatives and their solutions. The Forum became memorable also with the fact that on May 23^rd, during the official opening ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Farm Credit and RCUL. The memorandum is aimed at contributing to the information and experience exchange between the two organizations, the realization of different educational programs, as well as to the fulfillment of many joint projects contributing in the further development of the credit cooperatives.
The CEO/President of Farm Credit Armenia credit cooperative, Mr. Armen Gabrielyan, welcomed the participants with a speech, assuring that this cooperation will grant the two organizations the opportunity to exchange best cooperative practices and that this is another evidence of the centennial friendship that exists between the Armenian and Russian nations.
